**Become a Poll Worker in Jefferson County**

Thank you for your interest in becoming a poll worker. Below are the requirements and expectations for this vital role.

 

**Requirements:**

 

- Must be a registered voter in Jefferson County.

- Must be available for comprehensive training sessions.

- While a technical background is beneficial, it is not mandatory.

 

**Expectations:**

 

Training:  Poll workers are required to attend several hours of training prior to each election. These sessions, typically held on weekdays, cover Election Day procedures and the operation of Optical Scan Tabulation equipment.

 

Election Day Commitment:  Poll workers must be available to work from 6 AM to approximately 7:30 PM (maybe later) on Election Days.

 

Public Interaction:  Must be friendly and comfortable working with the voting public.
